Reviewed: The Counter
Street: Santana Row · City: San Jose · Type of Cusine: american ·

Description: good burgers, friendly service
Review Title: The Counter
My Rating: Thumbs Up!
My Opinion: mmmmmm, the fries! Best burger I have found in the south bay. You get to make your own burger, what type of cheese, bun, sauces and more! I want to go back and try other combos! You can also do the same with chicken or vegie burgers.

How's the price, Julie? And where in Santana Row is it located?

On a scale of 1 to 4 Barney's, how many Barney's does this place get?

What's a Barney? I hope we are not talking about the purple dinosaur. Fred Flintstone's neighbor is okay.

No, no, Dinos have nothing to do with burgers!

Here's Barney!

I haven't been to The Counter yet, but it sounds like Squeezers. remember them? They used to be on Stevens Creek. I think it's an Asian buffet now. They used to bake their own buns (sounds funny), which were great. They had video games too. As a teenager, it was a fun hangout. Plus the burgers were really good. I guess The Counter will be successful since it's in Santana Row. It's next to that taco place, Wahoo's I think. By Maggianos.

I miss Squeezers!

Squeezers was the best! I even had a dream a few years ago that Squeezers had reopened. It tempted me to drive by to see if it actually had by some freak chance. Their sign remained up for years even after they closed.

I totally don't remember Squeezers, or even their sign. But then again I had never heard of Valley Fair until they remodeled some 10-15 years ago. I do remember when Santana Row was Town & Country though.

Yeah, Squeezers was cool. Juicy Burger is kind of like it but not the same. I really like Clarke's in Mountain View. they used to have one in Campbell in the Nob Hill shopping center. Too bad it's gone.

What about Kirk's? I used to like them but I've never been like, "Ooh, I want a burger." So I don't eat them very often.
