Believe it or not, the guy who shelled out over three quarters of a million dollars for Barry Bonds' 756 home run ball is letting the public decide its ultimate fate. Well, you only get three options and you can vote for it on his website.

The options are to
  • Send it to Cooperstown
  • Brand it with an asterisk
  • Or blast it into space

Voting ends Sept. 25th, 2007.

Well, you couldn't see something like this coming now would ya?

Barry Bonds calls Mark Ecko an idiot:

I thought the ball should be branded and sent to Cooperstown, not as a statement against Barry Bonds, but as a visible commentary on baseball as an American institution for the era. If it's just the ball in the hall of fame, the placard will say something about the record being accomplished under suspicion of Bonds using performance enhancing drugs. If the ball shows up in a doctored format, there may be further explaining to do about the state of the entire league or at least a chance to make a commentary on more than just Barry Bonds.
