Has anyone else heard about the proposed walking trail the City Council has approved along the San Tomas Creek? As a homeowner along this creek, I would like to find out more information about the proposal and let the City Council know I am worried.

If you know more about it, I would like to hear your thoughts. If you are concerned as well, please attend the City Council meeting on Nov 6th

What are your worries about it? I know when they talked about extensions and fixes of the LG Creek Trail people were worried (went to the neighborhood meetings when Ken Yeager was still city council), but those who had been in previous installations (and the city) reported it as a boon to safety because of all the people out and about on foot in the neighborhood, noticing things.

I live by the LGCT in large part because as a runner I'd rather be there than anywhere else out on the street, especially in the dark.

I understand that there is a block or something that will have to use existing sidewalks because there isn't enough access along the creek. This actually exists on the LGCT from where Meridian meets Curci to Lincoln Ave (near Coe, I think?) where it connects to a bridge, etc. and goes on a ways longer. No one goes there, everyone hops on the trail from somewhere near home (or drives there, as Campbell people on the other side of Winchester currently have to do) and uses the trail where it's laid out only.

I'm not trying to make light of your concerns, but offer some info that might be useful to you.

Finally some good from a project so people can't say NOT IN MY BACKYARD. People are so territorial. Especially Palo Alto who won't let anyone in its City Park, except residents. I think we should keep them out of all other public places, like the beaches, lakes, museums not in Palo Alto.
