Do you have a neighbor or some weirdo down the street that just goes overboard with home decorating around the Holidays? Report them! We need prospective houses to feature in our 6th Annual Winter Wonderland Bus Tour. You can save me a lot of driving and eyestrain by giving me a heads up if there's a worthy contender in your area.

Better yet, if you've got the shutter-bug, snap a pic and post it in the Best Holiday Light Displays 2007 album.

You can post your tips directly to this message thread. I'll be posting my own updates here on displays I find and ones that I verify from past years.

If you want to do a little exploring here's some info from past years.

I passed by earlier this week on Sunday and they had about half of their display up. I don't know if they're not completely set-up yet or if they're going with a smaller display this year.

One cul-de-sac in Santa Clara that has been a perennial feature in lists of must-see displays appears to be going dark this year. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it, but I stopped by on my way home last night and there was only one house with any display at all last night on Layton Ct. in Santa Clara.

Here are few pics of past displays on Layton. The whole street gets into it:

Well, rumors of the demise of Layton Ct. in Santa Clara were premature. It looks like the early Thanksgiving has everyone out of synch. My favorite display on Layton with the sea of 'Toon themed cutouts appears to be gone for good, but the rest of the block is still in the action.

I've verified a number of excellent Santa Clara vicinity stops.

Jaq, I have a couple of houses that may be candidates for big design in the Campbell area, but mostly some honorable mentions.

Campbell Area Possible candidates:

750 Harriet Ave:
The display was synchronized to music through an FM tuner last year.

Westmont Ave:
Don't know the house number. It's not far from San Tomas Aquino. They're back after skipping last year. The house has a sign that says "The Ferkels"

Unconfirmed: 370 Vallejo Dr. - San Jose:
I'm surprised that this house doesn't make any best of lists. They weren't set-up as of a year ago. If nobody has a tip on them them, I'll check them out this week.

Campbell Area Honorable Mentions

Mitchell Ct:
On Mitchell Ct, the whole block gets into it to some degree, but only one house was up and going when I stopped by a week ago. It looked like the other houses are getting ready too. The Mitchell Ct. displays don't make my higher priority list because it's out of the way (off traffic patterns make it hard to find) and not among the spectacular (but they are fun).http://www.socialwave.net/gallery/1905/si/

1680 Westmont Ave:

By the way, anyone know if Debbie Phelps is still at the Nido Dr. apartments? It's only mildly decorated and I heard a rumor that she moved. I'm going to stop in this week if nobody has any info.

Oh and one more thing, if you haven't seen my post about the Lights of the Valley website, see here:

OK, I have an update on 370 Vallejo Dr in San Jose. I was in the area this morning and bumped into the guy who does the display and he's in the process of getting the display up, but it's going to take a little while. He might have most of it up by next week.
