Try this gift on your high society Mac head. It's a 24 Karat Gold plated MacBook Pro with a diamond encrusted Apple logo. It's such a steal at $10K too.

If that's too pricey, I guess just the plain ol' Gold plated MacBook Pro will have to do.

Who woulda thunk these things exist!

Rich or not, the gold plated Mac laptops just reek of tacky.

Then again, it probably looks really good along with their gold plated iPhone and gold plated dorky looking bluetooth headset.

What Mac-Head does not have expensive tastes -- I would argue that by definition Mac-Heads have expensive tastes.....!

My taste buds are currently lusting after:

iPhone. I think I am ready for a so called smart phone, and the iPhone is nice..

iMac. A new computer is always nice and mine are a handful of years old. I think iMac rather than a laptop for some reason...

The Print Shop. Software to produce flyers and such.

Photoshop Elements. I like this program and probably get the update to keep it current.

Also a long list -- USB drives, other software updates, new drives, books, cameras, yada, yada, yada.

Well, before you act on your Apple lust, check the Mac Rumors' Buyer's Guide for some tips on when to buy. They track all of the major Apple hardware products release schedules to predict when new versions are due to come out.

Right when a new model comes out, you have the best of both worlds. You can pay the same price for an upgraded version of the product you're looking at or you can find the replaced model at a significant discount. I saved about $600 on my MacBookPro by picking up a refurbished version of the just replaced model last year.

Here's a link to the Buyer's Guide:

I don't think being a Machead is necessarily expensive by definition anymore though. Pound for pound, you always get a lot of computer for the money. There are ads for $400 Dell laptops that look very appealing, but then by the time I have the configured the way I would want a PC laptop, it's close to the $1000 range... not much cheaper.

Well... iPods always cost a premium for being Apple based MP3 players. So yeah, that's a more expensive taste.

There's only one thing I don't like about the iMacs. When it comes time to replace an iMac, you're also replacing the monitor, which is not cheap. If you keep the iMac for more than a few years, then the added cost might be insignificant though.
