Blah Blah Woof Woof at Mission City, Santa Clara (public event)

Jay Howlett, Steve Kritzer and Chuck McCabe are all award-winning, well-respected songwriters in their own rights. Teaming together in an artist collective known as Blah Blah Woof Woof, these three create an evening of satire, humor and poignant truth that will leave you with a smile on your face and your faith in humanity restored once again.

The boys are back, with new songs and old favorites, in the round with Rolfe Wyer on bass and Tim Siefert on drums.

Jay Howlett
Jay Howlett a singer/songwriter with a powerful baritone voice that you can feel. Independent Songwriter Magazine says "Jay's voice carries a profound wisdom and depth that flow out of every breath, every syllable." An accomplished performer with a degree in theatre Jay writes simple honest songs about life in and around America and the experiences that bring us together and tear us apart. Troubadours still exist on the "new folk" scene and this award winning songwriter is one of them. In the last 13 months alone Jay has received honors and awards from Kerrville Folk Festival (Texas), Founders Folk & Bluegrass Festival (Utah), Sisters Folk Festival (Oregon) and Napa Music and Wine Festival (California) and the 1999 "Song of the Year Award" from The Northern California Songwriters Association.

Steve Kritzer
Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, producer, studio musician and band member, Steve Kritzer wears many 'hats', and wears them well. An award winning songwriter (finalist at the Kerrville and Napa Valley Folk festivals), Steve is a regular mainstage performer at the Cork and Belfast Folk Festivals in Ireland, the Bluebird Cafe' in Nashville, Tennessee, the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and many points in between. Steve is gaining fans worldwide for his incredibly polished yet personal performances, fiery instrumental work, and award winning 'touch your heart' songs. A man of many musics, Kritzer is as comfortable with Celtic and bluegrass music as he is with traditional folk, country, rock, and big band swing, blending these influences with his own ideas and amazingly diverse musical talents.

Chuck McCabe
A vein of humor and a theme of respect run through McCabe’s distinctly American songwriting. From those clever missives that make us laugh and shake our heads (Don’t be rude to the people who bring your food) to poignant social commentary (Minimum Wager, Deliver us from Evil), McCabe makes us think about how we treat our fellow-man. His delivery demonstrates an understated elegance that is a rare find among performers – especially those who cross the lines between wit and wisdom. He has released four CDs on the BlahBlahWoofWoof label. His 2006 release Sweet Reunion is a culmination of observations about family and heritage, with a subtle underlying message that the past has given us things worth keeping. With such luminaries as Rob Ickes on Dobro, Norton Buffalo on harmonica and Myron Dove on bass, this album produced and recorded by Joe Weed is truly McCabe’s “magnum opus.”
