Come block your favorite short mexican. He will be a year older, slower, and very tired. It is fun when he is full strength but this will be like shooting fish in a barrel.

This is a special weekend, Raul's Bday weekend. Lets do something for our favorite short mexican. We are having a Saturday Volleyball session this weekend to accommodate Raul's Bday. I am going to suggest items to bring and first person to respond will bring that item. See below.

We play year round on Sundays, barring rain. Always enough for one net, but extra nets are available should the turnout and skill level allow us to expand.

Open Play volleyball for experienced players. Multiple nets and fun people. Please no beginners at this time. We regularly have ten or more players. Must be able to pass the ball consistently. Most players are under 5'9". All are very good sports (a requirement).

If you are a beginner, I am starting a beginner distribution list. You may email me your address and I will keep you posted on appropriate events. You can be new/never played. When we have enough response, We will host lessons, classes, and beginner leagues if you are interested.

Remember to RSVP. We need minimum six to Rsvp by friday or I will cancel on Saturday. We are planning for another great turnout. See you next week.

Eric and I are there with bells on. Anything for our favorite short, mexican. He may not be around to much longer, he is REALLY old.

As per the BDay boy, your company is requested. You don't need to bring anything. He wants your company (is he demented or what?).

I don't know how this mexican thinks, but he wants to cook/clean/ serve us on his birthday. What a warped person. Lucky US? I think we should try to contribute to this feast. We always welcome suggestions but here is what I think will be complimentary to Raul's Tacos: (don't spend more than $5/pp).

guacamole
couple bags of tortilla chips (or big bag from costco or smart /final)
pace salsa picante medium (large is $4 at luckys)
sangria (two people should team up or I will do very cheap)
bottle of tequila (two people)
fruit assorted
snacks
beer (Corona, Miller Genuine Draft, Bud Light all raul's regular)
soda pop
Dessert items like cookies, a cake or your specialty,
any entree if you want to compete with Raul's tacos. I can't show him up on his bday so I will avoid my entree's.
Definitely nothing Russian..... Just kidding Irina.... He loves Russian.

Someone with a ghetto blaster (portable hi fi) and everyone bring their favorite cd's except Danielle and that twisted hick music she listens to... "Play that funky music Russell!" ....

Just a reminder, Raul wants your company for his bday. No contribution is required. I made a suggestion to contribute but it is not a requirement.

We are a definite go for Saturday. Don't forget to say if you still want to play on Sunday or I will cancel.

Hi there,

I've gotten several of the invites, but this is the first one I will be attending. I'm looking forward to it. I will bring some chips I look forward to meeting y'all!! By the way, I'd like to play some VB - not a beginner but not a pro either, but I like to win as much as I like to have fun.

Woohoo! I'm making Sangria for the special event. And what is it about this twisted hick music? I'd like to hear what you are thinking, Joe. tongue.gif
Looking forward to the party and some volleyball!

Sorry guys, my Dad is sick and I have to visit with family this Saturday. Maybe I'll make the Sunday thing... but I'm not going to commit at this point.

We are playing, and Raul has moved the food back to the park. So everything is back at the park as planned. Play at 1:30pm. Food will be around 4-5pm. See you there.

Thanks to all of you who participated We all started out wiht some great games. The first was the best. Then we took a break to eat Raul's taco feast (pork adobada). Boy did the game go down hill fast. The last game was not even worth playing. Food and volleyball don't mix I guess.

Andy's and Rick's beer was delicious, always better than mine.
Rachel's tequila was also great. We had chocolate (Karen), great salso, great Cake (Irina et al). How did raul blow out all those candles.

Thanks to all again.
