San Jose's 2nd Annual Chalk Art Festival - Event 1 of 2 (public event)

Heart of Chaos once again brings an explosion of color and vitality to the community with the 2nd Annual Chalk Art Festival! Local artists from Heart of Chaos and Heart of Kids, our new youth art collective, will demonstrate a variety of chalk art and invite you to join in the fun with provided sidewalk chalk. There will also be live music provided by KSJS Djs! Come out and bring the family for some FREE fun in the sun creating great art with the community!

This will be the first event in a two part series. The second event will take place on August 30th at The National Hispanic University in San Jose. For more info about Heart of Chaos please visit http://www.heartofchaos.net.

Fundraising for this Event:

The Chalk Art Festival is being paid for in part by a Grant from the City of San Jose. We rely on donations to cover the additional expenses for this and other Heart of Chaos events.

Artists from Heart of Chaos and Heart of Kids will Paddle to raise money for Catalyst for Youth in this year's People Paddle for the Planet. We need your help to continue to bring you great local art and events including this years Chalk Art Festival, Heart of Kids Exhibits and several other exhibits and events we have planned this year.

Every little bit counts so please take a few moments make a pledge of $5, $10, $20 or more. You can pledge online with a credit/debit card or mail a check to Catalyst for Youth at 1724 Alberta Ave., San Jose, CA 95125. Catalyst will make the pledge for you if you mail in a check. Thanks for your support!

We are seeking sponsors for San Jose’s second chalk art festival. Sponsorship requires only a $100 donation and includes having one of our artists draw your logo in chalk at a designated area during the community public art event.

For your information, all donations to Catalyst for Youth, Inc. are 100% tax deductable. Catalyst for Youth is a 501 © 3 non profit public charity and educational organization. Catalyst was created in 2002 to help young people become emotionally stable, socially responsible, and physically healthy contributing members of society. Specifically it provides traditional and non-traditional education and training, resources, opportunities, marketing of skills and products, trained mentors, partnerships, and general charitable assistance creating a safety net and springboard for this at risk population while
facilitating their emergence as contributing members of society.

Its primary program, Heart of Chaos (HOC), an artisan collective for “artists on the edge,” is part of Catalyst’s incubator initiative to support youth created and led entrepreneurial endeavors. Currently HOC
puts on group and solo art exhibits for emerging and established artists, runs an expanding weekly art program in juvenile hall, has a Heart of Kids program for young artists and was granted a mini grant to support in part San Jose’s second chalk art festival.

Heart of Chaos is looking for local sponsors for our 2nd annual chalk art festival. Sponsorship is only $100, and of course tax deductible, and would include an artist drawing your logo and contact details in a predominate part of the venue.
