Cloning Events

If you have an event that recurs frequently, there's an easy way to repost your event. You can clone it, and simply change the details that need to be changed. Cloning an event is also preferred  against creating an event with an end date when adding multiple day events to the calendar that aren't happening on consecutive days. For example, if your event is happening from April 1st to 7th, you would most likely create one event and set an end date for that event. The event will span across seven days on the calendar and remain visible for the duration of the event. If your event happens only on April 1st, 4th, and 7th, then you should create an event for April 1st and then clone the event you create and change the details to fit the subsequent dates. To clone an event, goto the event you wish to repost and click on the "Clone This Event" button. If you do not see this button, you do not have permission to clone the event. You only have permission to clone events if you are the author of the event or if you are a moderator of a group where an event is posted.  After you click the Clone button, you will get an event entry page with most of the the details already filled in for you. Just change the details that need to be changed and click on the submit button to post your cloned event. Tip:  You may want to check off the "Stealth Publish" box when cloning an event numerous times to prevent your recreated event postings from hogging up the main index page on Social Wave. If you're taking up all the space on the main index, we'll probably end up hiding them for you anyway.  If you clone a Social Event, only the event information will be recreated. RSVP information from the existing event will not be transferred.
