Flowers are blooming and birds are chirping.
Be a part of the Child Advocates team by
volunteering at our sixth annual garden auction,
the Birdhouse Bash.
Whether you come for the day or just for a
few hours, we need your help. If you have the
time and would like to volunteer, please reply to

Saturday, May 31, 2008
2:30pm – 5:00pm
Okanogan Drive
Saratoga, CA
Shifts:
Setup (20 volunteers needed)
Shift time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Duties: Set up volunteers will help to set up tables and chairs; place birdhouses in the silent auction area; set up parking and directional signs; put up decorations; arrange the children’s activity area; and other prep tasks.
Event (40 volunteers needed)
Shift time: 1:15pm (orientation begins) – 7:00pm (cleanup ends)
Duties:
Parking/Directions | Direct traffic |
Drink Station | Pour wine; refill lemonade and iced tea pitchers as needed |
Guides | Direct guests to view live auction items and birdhouses. |
Silent Auction Runner | Pull bid sheets at end of auction; enter winning entry on master bid board; move birdhouses to driveway; give birdhouses to winning bidders. |
Birdhouse Model | Display birdhouses during Live Auction. |
Live Auction Spotters | 1) Get attention of Auctioneer when guest is bidding 2) Write down winning bids and pass information to Check Out crew |
Children's Activity | Help with arts and craft activity for the children in attendance |
Check-out | Process payments; direct donors to birdhouse pick-up |
Clean-up | Break down tables; fold chairs; pick up trash |
