Final Broadcast for KTVU News Anchor Dennis Richmond Tonight

Dennis Richmond, the longtime news anchor of KTVU Channel 2 News at 6 and 10pm is retiring after serving as a leading news personality in the Bay Area for over 40 years. Growing up, my family watched the Channel 2 news religiously for years and Dennis Richmond is in the background of many of my childhood memories. Good luck Dennis and thanks!

Wednesday the 21st seems a random day to do this. My family also watched him growing up but I rarely watch the news. He is a Bay Area institution though.

The only bay area personality that I found expresses his opinion honestly including criticizing his employers, is Gary Radnich. Dennis Richmond sounded nice but didn't you get the impression he was a face to who ever was writing for him. Compare him to Spencer Christian? on channel seven where you get the impression that he has some input on his text.
With Gary, you know he is ad libbing and speaks from the heart. He is on Kron, Knbr and used to do late night sports. He will make you laugh, think, and get angry.
It is sad to see change, we wish Dennis Richmond well.
