sad.gif After a long wait the 1.6 million dollar Westmont Avenue Improvement has started. There will be new sidewalks, newly paved roads and two huge planter medians aprox 6 x 40 feet. There is one major problem. The existing left turn lane going north onto (new) Harriet will be eliminated, causing a 10-20 car back-up with high school afternoon traffic. Do you use that intersection and are you concerned about cars using your street as a short cut or do you have a suggestion? Please help save our left turn lane: Write Matthew Jue, Campbell Public Works, 70 North Street, Campbell, Ca 95008. or Call 866-2150.

I am glad to see the improvements coming. The sidewalk along Westmont is a huge improvement. But I am concerned that the change in the traffic pattern will force more vehicles into the neighborhood.
I think the overall improvement is a benefit for the neighborhood.
