Aw shucks...thanks, Pam! smile.gif

We were so pleased to see that article in the Campbell Reporter and the Merc. It was really nice!! The one thing it neglected to mention is that the driving force behind all of this is Social Wave member Jim Aspinwall, who was the man who refused to let Sundown Cinema die.

After kicking everybody in the butt to get us moving and working with the City to make sure everything we do is kosher, Jim's been handling all the electrical/technical/A/V issues (and there have been A LOT). Shel's been the one interfacing with the Business Association and handling the marketing, the sponsorships and donations, and the concessions prep.

Yup, it's fun to see your name in print, but there's some credit where credit is due missing in the article. The reporter knew that Jim had a key role in the continuation of the series this year, but I guess he didn't have room in his article to properly bring Jim into the story.

I guess that's the territory that they have to deal with when writing in neighborhood newspapers. Their readers want to read about people instead of projects, products, and organizations so they always have to pick a main character and go with it. I remember talking to one reporter a few years back who was interviewing me about Social Wave. I asked if they could make Social Wave the topic instead of me and the reporter explained that it doesn't work well for them that way.

Well, regardless of who they pick to talk about, I'm happy to see Sundown Cinema getting good press.

I read the story in the Merc and the Campbell Reporter. And speaking of the Campbell Reporter -- I am pretty sure that the foreground of the photo shows me manning the popcorn machine, with my friend Stacie Tamaki and her dog Kitai to the right! Bob and Fran Sneed are also visible.

I am famous!

Haha! You've been famous for a good long while, though I think this is the most famous you've been through that photo. I've taken a lot of pics of Sundown Cinema and whenever I get asked for pics, I submit what I've got and they always take that one with Dana, Stacie, Kitai, Bob, and Fran.

That was one of the first pics I took and it seems to still be the best one even though I've gotten better as a photographer and I've upgraded my camera equipment drastically. That shot was taken with a 3.1 megapixel Nikon Coolpix 990. It was just a very very lucky shot. I remember crouching in the corner waiting for about 20 minutes for a scene that had Bogart in it without a lot of movement so I could get an extended exposure.

Well, this is NOT cool!

I've already written to them to ask them to stop using my artwork without my permission. On the other hand, I guess it must mean it's easy to find Sundown Cinema in Campbell online. wink.gif
