The Old Monterey Business Association and Old Monterey Foundation are seeking volunteers for our 4th of July Parade in Downtown Old Monterey. This old fashioned community parade, with marching bands, dancers, giant balloons, and community groups, is a wonderful Monterey tradition that draws thousands of locals and visitors of all ages for a morning of family-friendly fun.

Volunteers will serve 8am-12pm on Tuesday, July 4. As a volunteer, you may end up marching in the parade or placed along the route for crowd and parade control. Because of this, it is very important that you be able to walk a mile and stand for a few hours.

Interested? Fill out this short form and you'll be contacted by the Parade Volunteer Coordinator. If you have questions, please phone the OMBA office at 831-655-8070.

UPDATE: Our first car show is over, but if you want to put your name in the basket to be a volunteer for next year, please fill out our volunteer information form to register as a volunteer for Downtown Campbell and we'll be in touch when we're ready to coordinate volunteers for next year's Car Show.

Downtown Campbell's first professional car show is coming up on July 8th and we need our community's help to make the event a success! If you love cars or just love being around people, we want you to join our volunteer team. We have a variety of positions available so everyone can find something that suits them best.

The shifts for most roles are four hours long and available in either a morning (8am-noon) shift or an afternoon shift from (noon-4pm). As a small token of our appreciation, all volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.

Workhorse Bicycles is very excited to announce the newest bike bag company at the shop, Swift Industries! Swift, based in Seattle, is woman-owned and the bags are made from recycled materials.

Our staff really likes Swift Industries' Sidekick stem pouch that can hold a Nalgene bottle or your cell phone and some snacks. Most other companies' “small feed bags” can feel lacking in room at times, forcing you to upsize to a bigger, more expensive bag, but the Sidekick is a great handlebar bag.

Workhorse staff is also fond of the cylindrical Bandito bag, which can hold a lot of stuff including tools, a windbreaker, and your hopes and dreams. It'll be perfectly at home on your handlebars or under the saddle.

We invite you to stop by the shop at 486 Washington Street in Downtown Old Monterey and check out all the Swift Industries bags we have in stock!

Board and Brush is located at 458 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey.

Luminata Books and Gifts has new Celtic porcelain pendants in stock which feature animals (cats, dogs), mythical creatures (dragons), Celtic symbols (crosses, knots), and goddesses and saints. Each pendant comes with a lovely description of the pendant's image in English and French.

Stop in during store hours to check them out. We're located at 631 Cass Street in Downtown Old Monterey and open Tuesday-Friday, 10:30am-6:30pm; Saturday, 11am-6:30pm; and Sunday, 12pm-5pm.
