Posted on October 1st, 2013 by Lighthouse District

New Monterey's Lighthouse District invites you to join us for our Annual Halloween Celebrations! With children's trick-or-treating at the shops on Lighthouse Avenue, parties for adults and kids, an outdoor screening of Spielberg's E.T, a great selection of costumes, and a special costume fashion show, Halloween in the Lighthouse District promises to be fun for all ages!

Be sure to view the full list of events and specials here and to check back regularly because this list will grow like the number of giant monsters emerging from a wormhole in the ocean floor in a Guillermo del Toro film.

Prime Monterey is pleased to announce two new classes led by instructor Mia Hurst, a gifted yoga teacher whose attitude is uplifting and whose cues are easy to apply. Bring a water bottle - shoes and mat are optional.

PRANA YOGA
Tuesdays, 12pm

Regular Prana Yoga practice is a powerful therapeutic tool for healing the physical and mental body. It slows the aging process and keeps you open sexually; it creates strength, flexibility and muscle tone; it improves posture, and it will increase your sense of grace and overall well being.

MAT PILATES
Thursdays, 12pm

Pilates develops alignment, breathing, and a strong core and improves coordination and balance. The mat exercises are the foundation for the entire system. Mia allows for all exercises to be modified according to your level.

To register and for more information, please phone Prime Master Trainers Jolie at 831-809-2571 or Jen at 831-224-7119.

Calling All Decorators!

Posted on September 5th, 2013 by Downtown Campbell

Have you ever wanted to unleash your creative energy in a space that is not your own house but will be seen and admired by many? Perhaps decorating one of the rooms in the Historic Ainsley House is for you!

Campbell's Ainsley House has a few rooms still available to decorate for the holidays. The theme for 2013 is Silver Bells Holidays. Decorating will need to take place November 9-13, and decorations will stay up through Dec 19.

The Ainsley House provides guidelines for decorating inside a historic structure and does have some decorations available for you to use in your own creative way, or you may bring in your own decorations if desired.

If this sounds like a fun and different way to get into the holiday spirit, please contact Kerry Perkins for more information at 408-866 2718.

Ladies, bangs (or "fringe" as they’re also called) can accentuate some of the best features of your face, but only if they’re cut and styled correctly. In it, he addresses which type of bangs look best for women with square, round, oval, and heart-shaped faces. Check out the 3-minute video here, and learn which bangs are best for your face shape!

Oya Salon, located at 201 Lighthouse Avenue, is open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday. Want to come down and try out a new look? Please phone the salon for an appointment, 831-656-0570.
