The California primary election is June 7, 2022, and it's time to vote! A fan favorite is returning to Revival Ice Cream in June! Our campfire s’mores ice cream is a fun way to usher in the summer. Using our classic Theo dark chocolate ice cream base, we add in house-made toasted marshmallow fluff and some speculoos crumbs which are just like graham crackers. It reminds us of summer nights with friends and family.

But campfire s'mores ice cream is only available in June, so visit us soon at 463 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. You can even pre-order it on our website for store pickup.

Venture Gallery presents the work of Linda Elling, our featured artist for June, whose paintings celebrate the incredible beauty of the Monterey Peninsula and Central Valley.

There is something magical in the quality of light in these paintings. Linda is captivated by scenes from California's Central Coast. Her work, in turn, has inspired collectors throughout the U.S.

Venture Gallery is now open daily, 10am-6pm. Linda Elling's artwork will be featured through June 2022. We invite you to meet the artist on Monday, June 6, 2pm-6pm or on Sunday, June 26, 10am-2pm, at the gallery. Venture Gallery is located at 260 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. Visit our website to shop online for work by our local artists.

A sign says "Plants Are Magic" at the recently opened Momstera Lounge in Downtown Campbell. To the owner, Charlene, that's not just a clever slogan, it's her truth. The inspiration that eventually became Momstera Lounge came from a rough period of her life when she discovered that plants were indeed magic to her and that through nurturing plants, she also learned how to care for herself.

Momstera is a pun on the name of the Monstera plant, but made MOMstera as a nod to the challenges and joys of motherhood. The reason why it's Momstera *Lounge* is because Charlene's vision for her shop is for it to be more than just a retail counter. She wants it to be a safe community hang out where friends and customers could stop in, slow down, and disconnect from the outside world.

As a community space, Momstera Lounge, has nights reserved for meditation sessions and "Soil Jams" for anyone who wants to stop in and chill to R&B with lots of plants. You can check on the events calendar on DowntownCampbell.com for their upcoming events.

As a store, Momstera has more than just plants (and more plants). You'll also find crystals, decor, and gifts with many of their offerings having been produced by local women. Celebrating and supporting women is a theme of Momstera Lounge. It got its start as a pop-up business at other woman owned businesses and now it's their turn to pay it forward by featuring products made by emerging women entrepreneurs and hosting them as weekend pop-up vendors.

Please join us in welcoming Momstera Lounge to the Downtown Campbell family!

BookBuyers Monterey is now Lighthouse Books! We are the same great bookstore - still buying, selling, and trading books and movies - but now we have a new name and are fully independent and locally owned. Visit us at 600 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey, at the corner of Lighthouse and Hoffman.

Don't miss our big sale over Memorial Day Weekend! We're open Sun-Thu, 11am-7pm, and Fri & Sat, 11am-8pm.

Play Full Ground is celebrating its 5th anniversary! In 2017, Play Full Ground was born as a single event consisting of an interactive art exhibit and social event with food, drinks, and live music. It was also a collaborative project for which Play Full Ground founder Mai Ryuno formed a collective with creative members of the Monterey artistic and business community.

At the time, Mai was missing a sense of community as an artist and as an individual and was striving to create that for herself and others. After its brick-and-mortar business opened at 550 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey, Play Full Ground was a lively, creative place that hosted numerous workshops and events. But it has been quiet for the past 2+ years as a result of the pandemic. During that time, she knows many of us have had to communicate virtually and have limited in-person, face-to-face interaction.

To help us move out of that isolation, Mai is now working on ideas for a gathering to start building a community again at Play Full Ground and beyond. She would like to listen to and learn your stories, have a series of dialogues, and brainstorm ideas for the creation of a joyful, supportive, and connected community.

Please let her know if you are interested in creating such a community together - just visit this page and fill out the short form. She's planning to send an invitation to a gathering this summer for those who care.
