Community Organizations at WG Community Farmers' Market (public event)
Group:
The Willow Glen Community Farmers' Market is hosting several community and nonprofit organizations this Saturday, 9:30am-1:30pm. The organizers of the market are proud to welcome the following organizations this week:
1. Our City Forest - a one-stop greening shop, beautifying San Jose parks, schools, and neighborhoods with shade trees since 1994. Our City Forest also provides thousands of volunteer opportunities, green jobs training, and education programs throughout the year.
2. Play Flag Football - the mission of which is to provide safe and quality flag football leagues and summer camps throughout Northern California while bolstering the self-esteem for each and every participant. Since 2003, the organization has grown from a single location with 15 kids to 18 locations serving nearly 10,000 families a year.
3. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - this organization organizes and operates race events throughout the Bay Area to raise awareness and money for research to treat and cure leukemia and lymphoma.
Please support your community organizations. Farmers' markets are not just about food. They are gathering places for the community and community organizations that need our support and are critical in some cases to the health of our world!
