The Monterey Public Library is the largest public library on the Monterey Peninsula, with an extensive collection of books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, and web services. It offers study and meeting rooms, a Makers' Lab with items such as 3D printers and sewing machines, and quiet, comfortable reading areas for all ages. It also houses the California History Room and Archives Collection, available by appointment.

The library's bookmobile is on the road Tuesday - Thursday, bringing books and media to a number of stops in Monterey.

Monterey Public Library is a welcoming community, cultural, and learning center for people of all ages. We encourage discovery, share the joy of reading, celebrate Monterey's history and heritage, and protect the right to know.
