The non-profit organization Legal Services for Seniors is available to meet at Scholze Park Community Center, 280 Dickman Avenue in Monterey, on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, 2pm-4pm. The organization provides effective, free legal services for people age 60 and older who live in Monterey County. Legal Services for Seniors helps seniors address and overcome legal problems, helps with consumer issues, health insurance (Medicare, MediCal, and private pay), Social Security and other pensions, landlord/tenant disputes, estate planning, and preparing wills and Advance Health Care Directives. The organization also educates seniors about their rights and how to recognize and stop potential abuses.

The mission of Legal Services for Seniors is to provide no cost legal services to Monterey County seniors 60 years of age and above, emphasizing service to the most socially and/or economically needy.
