Monterey Hostel is proud to announce we are now a year-round drop off site for the Food Bank for Monterey County!

Gold Coast Tattoo, located at 639 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey, now has a piercer in-house and they're accepting appointments Friday - Monday, 12pm–10pm. (Walk-in clients are always welcome, but appointments are preferred to guarantee your spot.)

Whether you’re adding something new or upgrading your jewelry, they’ve got you covered. Learn more and make a reservation.

Artist Casey Starks, owner of Casey Starks Studio at 550 Lighthouse Avenue, Suite A in Monterey, has officially shifted her popular pottery workshops to become fully customizable private group events!

In the past, Casey offered workshops with set dates and individual sign-ups - but behind the scenes, that system took a lot of energy and admin to manage. So she's redesigned her workshop offerings to be more flexible and customizable for you.

What's New

Workshops are now available only as private events for groups of 2-10 people on site. YOU pick the date and time that works for your group (a great option for folks visiting from out of town). You can choose from hand building project options such as Make a Mug, Ceramic Jewelry, or Intro to Slab-Building.

Your group gets a relaxed, personalized experience - perfect for special occasions, office team-building, or creative get-togethers with your favorite people.

Why

This move to private groups allows Casey to give each group her full attention, create a more enjoyable experience, and reduce the behind-the-scenes admin for herself. It’s a win for everyone.

If you’ve been wanting to plan a workshop or a creative outing, Casey would love to host your group. See all the details and submit a request here.

Venture Gallery presents the work of Christine Crozier, our featured local artist for February, and her illustrations for Barbara Mossberg's book, Clown Cantos.

About the Exhibit

Christine Crozier has created fresh, joyful illustrations in brush and ink for poet and essayist Barbara Mossberg’s latest book, Clown Cantos. Christine's earliest formal art training was in Chinese brush painting, and for the book she was able to revisit the clean, fresh simplicity of that medium.

About Venture Gallery

Venture Gallery is open 10am-6pm daily. Christine Crozier's artwork will be featured through February 2026. Venture Gallery is located at 260 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. Visit our website to shop online for work by our local artists.

Namaste India Bistro has been part of Monterey's Lighthouse District for nearly a decade, offering authentic Indian cuisine made with care, tradition, and a whole lot of heart.

If you’ve been meaning to try Namaste or haven’t visited in a while, we invite you to stop by and experience it for yourself. Supporting local restaurants keeps the Lighthouse District vibrant.

Artist and educator Mai Ryuno of Play Full Ground is introducing a special, one-on-one program this spring for teens and adults looking for deeper support in developing their own creative practice, Creative Mentorship.

Creative Mentorship is individualized, project-centered guidance for those who want to explore their own ideas with structure, support, and intention. Projects may involve visual art, design, writing, research, performance, or interdisciplinary work. The medium is determined by the idea, not the other way around.

Creative Mentorship seeks to help youth and adults develop their creative voice and agency, turning curiosity into projects through a reflective, project‑based studio process. Mentees receive guidance, feedback, and dedicated time to explore, experiment, and bring their work to life, cultivating creative agency and confidence as they develop habits of attention, experimentation, and reflective practice.

Here, your curiosity becomes your material, your questions become projects, and your process becomes learning. Learn more and register here.

Play Full Ground is located at 550 Lighthouse Avenue, Suite E in Monterey.

Play Full Ground welcomes middle school and high school students to register for our Afterschool Co-Creation Studio! This is a process-based collaborative art studio designed to be a space for students' initiative, exploration, and confidence-building through building public-facing art projects. The program supports teamwork, leadership, and creative problem-solving.

You can join at any time via a monthly membership fee. This is a great way to stretch your wings creatively under the guidance of Mai Ryuno, an innovator artist and educator.

We just updated our Downtown Campbell annual events guide for 2026 and it's going to be another busy year of events between everything organized by the Downtown Campbell Business Association, Campbell Chamber, and the City itself. Volunteers will be needed for all of them.

Volunteers are what makes Campbell's engaging community culture possible and creating community connections is more important than ever in the world that we live in. If you're interested in helping us with this mission, take a look through our events guide and then fill out our Volunteer Registration Form and let us know which events you'd be interested in helping with.

Completing our registration form does not commit you to work at your selected events nor does it guarantee we'll have a position we can place you in. It only means that you'd like us to contact you when we're organizing our volunteer teams.
