Cafe Lumiere Closing on November 8

Posted on November 2nd, 2020 by Cafe Lumiere

We are sad to report that on Sunday, November 8, Cafe Lumiere will be closing our doors permanently at 365 Calle Principal in Downtown Old Monterey. That means there are only a few days left to get yelled at by Tanina, grab one of Cirilo’s scones, and get ignored by Brandi.

Friends of Lumiere, please consider donating to Cafe Lumiere's Employee Relief Fund. We want to make sure our employees are taken care of during this time of transition. The money will be disbursed to our current and former employees for their rent, bills and other necessities.

We love you and we’ll see you soon.

Venture Gallery presents a show by William Eatmon, our featured artist for November. We invite you to come and view his paintings. Venture Gallery is now open for in-store shopping Thursdays - Sundays, 10am-6pm.

Personally, William is most influenced by Klimt and it is evident in both his figurative and abstract works. In his abstract work, you'll find evidence of cosmic objects such as galaxies, nebulae, and stars.

William's artwork will be featured through November 2020. Venture Gallery is located at 260 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. Visit our website to shop online for work by our local artists.

Nacho Bizness Reopens in Downtown Old Monterey

Posted on October 28th, 2020 by lighthouseave

Folks, we have good news and bad news. Bad news first: everybody's favorite late-night nacho spot, Nacho Bizness, has left Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey. The good news is that it's moved nearby, to 470 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey!

Your pals at Nacho Bizness, the little hole-in-the-wall-that-could, now have a big, fun, newly redecorated restaurant where they're slinging piping hot 'chos and burritos for take-out. They've still got great vegan and gluten-free options for everyone and all their take-out packaging is green certified.

To those of you who have been craving nacho awesomeness ever since Nacho Bizness closed for remodeling in December 2019, we encourage you to pay them a visit on Alvarado Street, say hello, and support a locally-owned small business that's opening a new chapter in their story.

On Friday, November 6, 5pm-12am, Pearl Hour is serving up delicious food and cocktails to ages 21 and over on our back patio at 214 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey. Tonight our culinary partner will be Casas de Humo Barbecue. Cash only.
