It might be 2020, but we're still allowed to have favorite businesses, right? Metro Magazine just published the results of their annual Best of Silicon Valley reader's poll and even in this muted Sheltered-in-Place year, Downtown Campbell had a strong presence in the rankings.

The following businesses earned a top three ranking in one or more survey categories in the Metro's annual poll.

Dinner and a Haircut?

Posted on October 2nd, 2020 by Downtown Campbell

Make plans for dinner and a haircut? Ok, maybe that's not what the cool kids are actually doing, but this is a fun photo of people enjoying some outdoor dining in Downtown Campbell last weekend with a long overdue haircut at Station X Salon happening in the background.

If you need a haircut, please find a salon or barber shop in the Beauty Services section of our business directory. We even have one salon that's continuing to offer outdoor haircuts for people who don't want to get one indoors. Embelish Hair Lounge has an outdoor patio area that they're using to provide outdoor services.

2020 Children's Trick-or-Treat on Lighthouse Is CANCELLED

Posted on October 1st, 2020 by lighthouseave

It is with great regret that the New Monterey Business Association has cancelled the 2020 Children's Trick-or-Treat on Lighthouse because of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is one of our favorite events of the year, but we want all our local families and workers to be safe from the coronavirus, so Lighthouse Avenue businesses in Monterey will not be handing out candy this fall.

We want to thank all of the families who've participated in the Annual Children's Trick-or-Treat on Lighthouse in the past, and we wish all of you a fun and happy Halloween at home this fall. Stay safe, stay strong, and we hope to welcome you back for more sweet and ridiculous family fun with us in October 2021.

This year, Alvarado Street Brewery's friends over at Ventana Wilderness Alliance (VWA) are hosting this year's Wild and Scenic Film Festival virtually! For the past 3 years Alvarado Street Brewery and Grill has been sponsoring this awesome event which was held at the beautiful Golden State Theater right on Alvarado Street, but the VWA has adapted to the current circumstances and is having a virtual screening on October 8.

Alvarado Street Brewery and Grill has partnered with the VWA to bring you "Dinner, Drinks and a Film Fest!" If you head to VWA's website, you can purchase a bundled ticket which includes a to-go dinner and beer for two as well as the on-demand screening of the film. All proceeds will benefit VWA's stewardship programs including Trail Crew, Volunteer Wilderness Rangers, and Youth in Wilderness.

Dinner includes one shareable appetizer (either House Smoked Wings or Fried Brussels Sprouts) and two entrees - your choice of seasonal Kale Salad (with additional protein choices available) or your choice of a Chicano Burger or Alvarado Burger with Fries - plus a 4-pack of their amazing beer. The meal can be picked up on the day of the festival at Alvarado Street Brewery, 426 Alvarado Street. VWA will coordinate times and menu choices by email upon purchase.

Happy anniversary to Rosine's Restaurant in Downtown Old Monterey! Forty years ago today, on September 30, 1980, Rosine's Restaurant opened in the Del Monte Shopping Center, and six years later it was moved to its current location at 434 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. The Culcasi Family, owners of Rosine's, are very thankful all the support they’ve received throughout the years and for their dedicated staff, some of whom have been working there for decades. Rosine's Restaurant restaurant is now open for outdoor dining, take-out/pick-up and delivery Sun-Thurs, 9am-8pm and Fri-Sat, 9am-9pm. View the menu on the website.
