Osio Theater Seeks Film-Inspired Artwork

Posted on January 29th, 2019 by Osio Theater

Calling all artists! In honor of the grand re-opening of the Osio Theater under its new non-profit status, The Emerging Artists Alliance of Monterey is seeking film-inspired 2D artwork for a curated exhibit celebrating the role film plays in self-expression and storytelling. This juried exhibition will include works from emerging, local artists whose various forms of art address the culture created by movies and art films. Submission deadline is February 23.

Please email your submission of 2D art, including your full name and Instagram handle or website to EAAM. Any submissions missing one of these components will not be considered for exhibition.

This just arrived at The Monterey Music Store directly from France: an Aquilina 5-string bass! Visit us at 425 Alvarado Street in Old Monterey and check it out.

Each model of Aquilina bass has been crafted according to a specific sound experience - from the most “vintage” to the most sophisticated design - with a desire to optimize the instrument and its sound. Homemade truss rod using steel and carbon, acoustic chamber under the bridge, special finish of the keys to homogenize the spectrum and eliminate ghost notes, ergonomics analysis to determine neck and body assembly, angle, etc. These small details make all the difference and give the Aquilina bass an exceptional playability and harmonic richness.

Calling all pinot lovers! Comanche Cellars invites you to try our Santa Lucia Highlands pinot noir vertical flight. Price is $15 to taste 4 wines - if you make a two-bottle purchase, we'll waive one tasting fee. We're located at 412 Alvarado Street in Old Monterey.

This special tasting menu includes the 2014 Dog & Pony Pinot Noir (aged 24 months in 300 gallon bulk tanks with French Oak staves), 2013 Comanche Cellars Pinot Noir (aged 28 months in 50% new French Oak), 2012 Comanche Cellars Pinot Noir (aged 21 months in 50% new French and Hungarian Oak), and the 2011 Comanche Cellars Pinot Noir (aged 20 months in 50% new French Oak).
