The City of Campbell is teaming up with American Ramp Company (ARC) to revamp the Campbell Skatepark, and we want your input! This is your chance to shape the future of your local skatepark by sharing the obstacles and features you’d like to see in the design.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice heard! Submit your feedback by Saturday, March 8th.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but downtowns like this one all across America run on the backs of women. A lot of people have absolutely no idea how critical women are to the local small business community and in creating the small town cultures we celebrate as if they just happened on their own.

In many downtowns like this one, businesses owned or managed by women are in the majority. Dig deeper you'll find that most of the people who run and serve on committees to produce the uniquely local activities and celebrations that you cherish are women.

When you support small businesses, chances are you're supporting the efforts of a woman who's bucking the odds. When you support women, you are supporting the culture that makes a place the place you know.

It doesn't matter how you choose to do it. Now, more than ever... stand behind women.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has begun a significant restoration project at Cooper-Molera Adobe at 506 Munras Avenue in Downtown Old Monterey. Work is focused on preserving the site's historic structures and ensuring their longevity for future generations.

All Buildings Remain Open to Visitors

The museum, gardens, Alta Bakery & Cafe, and Cella Restaurant will remain open throughout the process. The second floor of the museum will be closed to protect and store the Cooper-Molera Adobe collection and archival materials.

The project is expected to end by June 30, 2025, with work carefully planned to minimize disruptions to visitors. You can view updates on Cooper Molera's Instagram page.

About the Project

The project, funded in part by a 2022 National Park Services Save America's Treasures grant, includes the restoration of the Cooper Adobe museum (1827) and limited restoration work on the Diaz Adobe (1829).

The most critical element of the project is the restoration of the cantilevered wood balcony that wraps around the east and south sides of the Cooper Adobe. Other key efforts include exterior adobe plaster repair; decking restoration and replacement; repairs to windows, shutters, doors, and decorative trim; and drainage issues.

Seeking Funding for Roof Replacement

Unfortunately, delays in the project, coupled with the rising costs of goods and labor, have forced the organization to postpone a much-needed roof replacement. They are actively seeking funding for that critical work to ensure the long-term preservation of the building. For more information, please contact Executive Director Karyn Lee-Garcia.

Venture Gallery presents Noriko Yoshikawa-Constant, our featured local artist for March. Her exhibit, From the Kitchen to the Printmaker, features her charming monotype prints of dogs and cats.

About Noriko Constant

Noriko is a Japanese-born artist whose journey has been shaped by many roles - wife, mother, gardener, and animal lover - all influencing her artistic approach. She first studied oil painting in Japan, then stepped away from art for nearly twenty years, returning with an urgent passion for printmaking.

Specializing in monotype prints, Noriko exquisitely conveys her energy, vibrancy, and humor through depictions of dogs and cats, showing that art is a universal language beyond words. Working on plexiglas and copper plates with oil-based etching ink, she captures spontaneity and emotion. Her expressive images show her joyful spirit.

About Venture Gallery

Venture Gallery is open 10am-6pm daily. Noriko Yoshikawa-Constant's artwork will be featured through March 2025. Venture Gallery is located at 260 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. Visit our website to shop online for work by our local artists.
