Green Planet Yarn in Downtown Campbell is pleased to present the class Cables 101, in the Technique Building Series. This class, held on three successive Sundays, (June 17th, 24th, and July 1st), is for beginning knitters.

In this three-session class you will learn how to make different kinds of cables and how to read cable instructions, both written and charted. You will also learn tricks for fixing errors in cables, how to block cabled knitting, and how to turn a cable without using a cable needle.

Required skills: Students should know how to cast on, knit, and purl.

Materials: worsted weight yarn and appropriate knitting needles, cable needle, stitch markers (optional).

Students will be asked to start a swatch which will be used in class, as follows:
Cast on 36 stitches.
Row 1: K3, p2, k2, p2, k4, p2, k6, p2, k4, p2, k2, p2, k3.
Row 2: K5, p2, k2, p4, k2, p6, k2, p4, k2, p2, k5.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 at least 3 times.
