This is your chance to meet the maker! We are delighted to present our second Winemaker Dinner, featuring Zaca Mesa, a wonderful local winery from Santa Barbara County. This much-anticipated event will be held on Tuesday, October 6th, 7 PM - 9:30 PM, at The Socialight restaurant, located in Campbell, CA.

This series features carefully crafted five-course food and wine pairing dinners that reflect the flavors of autumn and the unique contribution of the winemaker. We would be absolutely delighted to have you join us on this special night and enjoy our best-picked selections in the company of friends, business associates, and wine aficionados from Zaca Mesa.

  • Crostini with butternut squash, mushrooms, and truffle essences

  • Two Bevin’s oyster with tomato lime granita and micro green’s
  • 2012 Z Blanc / White Blend -- displays rich aromas of ripe pear, cantaloupe, sweet citrus and honeyed spices. The fleshy palate shows great ripeness with rich stone fruits, honey and hints of mineral.

Second Course

  • Rabbit rillette, cherries, parsley, crispy brussel sprouts and Crusty Bread
  • 2011 Z Cuvee / Red Blend -- Mourvèdre brings notes of blueberry, meat and spice; Grenache adds rich raspberry aromas and flavors; Cinsault brings a touch of dusty berry.

Third Course

Low and slow braised short ribs, cured black olive fresh herbs polenta, and Roasted broccoflower
2011 Mesa Reserve Syrah -- reflects the cooler vintage with the spicier side of Syrah. There is a mixture of pepper and baking spices, highlighted by bright blackberry, savory herbs, and violets. The creamy oak tones are balanced by the wine's bright acidity and elegant tannins, all leading to a satisfying finish.

  • Chocolate Pot de Crème with Butterscotch Mousse
  • 2010 Syrah -- displays bright blackberry, wild-berry, flowers, mocha, pepper and our signature sage spice. The silky finish lingers from the ripe tannins with a touch of smoky oak.
