Those are the words that make up the name Filoli, a beautiful historic estate located in Los Altos. Join us on Friday, April 23, 2021, from 6 pm -7 pm for an evening with Julie DeVere, the Director of Museum Collections at Filoli, as well as the author of the book: Filoli: Family Home, Historic Garden, Living Museum. Julie will highlight the history of Filoli and discuss her role as Director of Museum Collections.

Historic Filoli Estate
A Bay Area native, Julie has worked in the San Francisco Bay Area museum community for the last twenty years. During that time she has worked with a number of local museums and historic sites, including the historic Ainsley House and Campbell Historical Museum, as well as working internationally on an archeological dig in Egypt. Julie holds a B.A. in Art History from Sonoma State University and an M.A. in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University. Since 2011 her home away from home has been the historic Filoli Estate, in Woodside. Filoli, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is a stunning Georgian Revival 54,000 sq. ft. home surrounded by an amazing 16-acre English garden and an expansive nature preserve. As the Director of Museum Collections, Julie is responsible for the management of their Museum Object Collection, Libraries, and Archives. In 2018, she joined the faculty of San Francisco State University as an adjunct lecturer working with the next generation of museum professionals. Julie is also a board member of the American Alliance of Museums: Historic House and Site Network, and the Bay Area Art Conservation Guild. She is the author and editor of the book Filoli: Family Home, Historic Garden, Living Museum, available onsite at Filoli's Clocktower Shop, or online as an e-book from various sources.
