Monterey Hostel

Monterey Hostel invites you to join us for our weekly hikes. We meet at the hostel every Thursday at 9am for coffee and coordination, then head out by 9:30am. All are welcome! No reservations necessary.

Hikes will last approximately 2 hours and be in different locations each week in a variety of environments. We aim to keep hikes accessible for beginners and all ages. In case of rain, please text the hostel at 831-677-6060.

Restoration Project at Cooper-Molera Adobe 2025

Monterey, CA

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has begun a significant restoration project at Cooper-Molera Adobe at 506 Munras Avenue. Work is focused on preserving the site's historic structures and ensuring their longevity.

The museum, gardens, Alta Bakery & Cafe, and Cella Restaurant will remain open throughout the process. The second floor of the museum will be closed to protect and store the Cooper-Molera Adobe collection and archival materials. The project is expected to end by June 30. Learn more.

The Western Flyer Sets Sail for the Gulf of California

Old Fisherman's Wharf

The legendary fishing boat, the Western Flyer, will set sail from Fisherman's Wharf on Sunday, March 16 at 3pm for an 85th anniversary expedition to the Gulf of California. All are welcome to come and join the free community celebration, 11am-3pm, rain or shine.

Enjoy live music and dancing, a 1940s costume contest, a vintage car show, hands-on science and art activities, and seeing the Western Flyer set sail with a fireboat escort and a celebratory ship horn farewell.
