Franklin Street Collaborative welcomes Feel Into Fashion to our business collective at 201 W. Franklin Street in Downtown Old Monterey. Join April Elizabeth and Stacia Nicole for monthly styling workshops at the shop and weekly IG lives most Mondays at 6pm.
Feel into Fashion was founded by fashion stylist April Elizabeth, whose goal is to help women ignore the fast trends and rediscover their unique style. April strives to help women, especially mamas, rediscover their inner icon - the self who's ready to throw caution to the wind and make space for a wardrobe that actually feels like their own so they can feel fabulous in their own skin.
April wants to help you find your groove again. If you're lost in the noise, struggling with self-doubt, or wresting with body image, April's here to help. Life isn't about squeezing ourselves into someone else's idea of "beautiful," it's about rocking our own vibe.
Come visit April Elizabeth at Franklin Street Collaborative!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but downtowns like this one all across America run on the backs of women. A lot of people have absolutely no idea how critical women are to the local small business community and in creating the small town cultures we celebrate as if they just happened on their own.
In many downtowns like this one, businesses owned or managed by women are in the majority. Dig deeper you'll find that most of the people who run and serve on committees to produce the uniquely local activities and celebrations that you cherish are women.
When you support small businesses, chances are you're supporting the efforts of a woman who's bucking the odds. When you support women, you are supporting the culture that makes a place the place you know.
It doesn't matter how you choose to do it. Now, more than ever... stand behind women.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has begun a significant restoration project at Cooper-Molera Adobe at 506 Munras Avenue in Downtown Old Monterey. Work is focused on preserving the site's historic structures and ensuring their longevity for future generations.
The museum, gardens, Alta Bakery & Cafe, and Cella Restaurant will remain open throughout the process. The second floor of the museum will be closed to protect and store the Cooper-Molera Adobe collection and archival materials.
The project is expected to end by June 30, 2025, with work carefully planned to minimize disruptions to visitors. You can view updates on Cooper Molera's Instagram page.
The project, funded in part by a 2022 National Park Services Save America's Treasures grant, includes the restoration of the Cooper Adobe museum (1827) and limited restoration work on the Diaz Adobe (1829).
The most critical element of the project is the restoration of the cantilevered wood balcony that wraps around the east and south sides of the Cooper Adobe. Other key efforts include exterior adobe plaster repair; decking restoration and replacement; repairs to windows, shutters, doors, and decorative trim; and drainage issues.
Unfortunately, delays in the project, coupled with the rising costs of goods and labor, have forced the organization to postpone a much-needed roof replacement. They are actively seeking funding for that critical work to ensure the long-term preservation of the building. For more information, please contact Executive Director Karyn Lee-Garcia.
