No Summer Concert Series in 2024

Posted on January 14th, 2024 by Campbell Library

For the first time in many years, the City of Campbell won't be hosting any summer concerts on the Orchard City Green in front of the Ainsley House. If you look at the photo above, you'll see the reason why.

The renovation of the Campbell Library is fully underway and and won't be finished in time for the Summer Concert Series to return for 2024. Additionally, a new Campbell Police building is scheduled to break ground on January 25, 2024 so there's going to be even more construction going on at City Hall besides the Library renovations.

This only affects the Thursday evening music series in front of the Ainsley House that is typically held over two months in the summer. Anything that's street music or music at smaller nearby venues won't be affected.

The new year brings several enticing changes for Esteban Restaurant. First, a classic Mediterranean pergola is the latest addition to the restaurant's recently renovated patio. Second, Executive Chef Ben Hillan is presenting new tapas and dinner entrees to celebrate the arrival of winter.

The pergola's elegant yet robust 12' vertical columns and clean lines are a stunning focal point for the patio. At the same time, its 18' x 32' footprint creates a private haven for several tables and seating for up to 26 people. With ambient lighting, a retractable roof, and eight heaters, the pergola is a perfect dining option to stay cozy all year long.

Staying true to his philosophy that the freshest and finest seasonal ingredients speak for themselves, Chef Ben has reinvented several favorite items and added a few new dishes, all of which can be seen on our new menu.

Tapas Hour is 4:30pm-6pm daily. Dinner hours on the patio are 4:30pm-8:30pm, Sun-Thu, and 4:30pm-9pm, Fri & Sat. Brunch is served 9am-1:30pm, Sat & Sun. Esteban Restaurant is located at Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa, 700 Munras Avenue in Downtown Old Monterey. Please phone for reservations, 831-375-0176.

The Coastal Roots Hospitality Group - including Montrio restaurant at 414 Calle Principal in Downtown Old Monterey - has designated the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center the nonprofit recipient of its Pick It Up - Pay It Forward Program for January and February 2024.

What does this mean? When you order takeout food from Montrio, 10% of your order will automatically be donated to this nonprofit agency. (Please note: this offer does not apply to delivery orders.)

The mission of the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center is to provide ongoing advocacy, support, and healing for all victims and survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse and to prevent sexual violence in our community through education.

Fleet Feet invites you to drop off your old running shoes, used running bras, or used nutrition wrappers during our hours of operation at 472 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey so they can be recycled.

Recycling Sneakers
Got Sneakers evaluates each shoe that will either be donated or broken down into new materials for newer product.

Recycling Run Bras
Fleet Feet is a proud partner of The Bra Recyclers. They evaluate the bras, which will either be reused to make new product or be donated to women escaping domestic violence, human trafficking, or battling cancer.

Recycling Nutrition Wrappers
Terracycle is a program that allows you to recycle any of your old nutrition wrappers. These wrappers will be broken down into materials to make new product.

Cha-Ya Japanese Tea and Things is now offering everything in the store (except tea) for 30%, 50% and even more off the original price until our official closing date, which is yet to be determined. We want to thank everyone for helping make 2023 Cha-ya's best year ever! We've had wonderful sales and support throughout December, and we are on track to close, as planned, by the end of January.

We still have a lot of very nice items in the shop that are looking for a good home! We would love for you to come by and shop or even just say hi (and goodbye). Visit us at 118 Webster Street in Downtown Old Monterey. We're open Monday - Saturday, 11am-4pm.
