Mai Ryuno, artist and owner of Play Full Ground, participated in an initiative by the Arts Council for Monterey County, designing a poster that encourages people to wear face masks and protect our community. The images in Mai's design evoke the Salinas Valley.

In addition to Mai, there are three other local artists who contributed their own poster designs to the initiative. You can download the free poster designs online and place them at your business and/or home.

Mai is still making beautiful and fun items that are great for gifting. Find them here on the Play Full Ground website and support a local artist.

Mud Cloth Mini Clutch at Lilify

Posted on March 11th, 2021 by Lilify

At Lilify, we are totally smitten with our mud cloth mini clutch, handmade in Monterey by Mikaela Bianchi of Feather Me Orange.

Mud cloth, or bogolanfini, is an ancient Malian (West African) textile dating back to the 12th century. Traditionally, it involves coarse, hand-spun cotton strips going through a long series of dyeing processes - first in a bath with leaves and branches, then numerous dye cycles in fermented mud (hence the name) - to achieve minimalist, symbolic designs.

Our mud cloth clutches are available in two sizes and in two different patterns. With brass hardware and zipper, leather tie, and cotton lining, these pieces are available online and in our shop at 281 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey.

Cypress Boutique Monterey has new spring arrivals and more great clothing for women and men arriving every day! We have a lovely selection of new tops, both short sleeve and long sleeve, including the stylish and comfortable rib knit crop top featured here.

Pieces are available online and in our store at 800 Lighthouse Avenue, Suite C in Monterey.
