Boogie on the Avenue brings upwards of 50,000 to 60,000 people to Downtown Campbell which means it is QUITE A WEEKEND in Downtown Campbell. To make the weekend even better, a lot of our stores are offering special deals or are hosting fun events during Boogie weekend.
Be sure to check out the Deals Page for a partial listing of some deals that are being offered and see the Events Page for all sorts of interesting side events you can check out.
There's also another way to discover all the extras on the side. That's the Hiccup App produced by a Downtown Campbell startup.
We want to show you something that will help you discover a lot of things that you might otherwise miss at this weekend's Boogie on the Avenue. Hiccup is a startup company in Downtown Campbell and they have an app that will show you everything that's going on and coming up during the festival including special deals being offered by merchants and side events happening behind the scenes.
If you have an iOS device, give it a try! Type "hiccup.events" into your mobile browser or search for "hiccup.events" in the App Store to download the Hiccup app. Then when you get to Boogie, launch the app for a real time map of what's happening and where it's happening.
Sorry, an Android version is not available yet.

Sunshine Freestyle wants to thank the small crew that helped set up this year's Surfabout scaffolding and tear it down: Drew Jensen, Robbie and Michael Newman, Zach Downing, Dave Eaton, Jim Wayman, Tom Richards, and the McKegney clan. We want to give a special shout-out, as we do every year, to James Frangella for his pre-dawn attack on the Monday tear down. We also want to thank Eric and Ryan Sanico and family for the Island feel with the palm trees.
We only wish we could have seen a few more able bodies down there to help - it's a lot of work. Please consider helping out next year!

The Monterey County Film Commission is pleased to announce that Brianna Beavers and Rose Mercurio, students at CSUMB, were named the 2016 winners of the MCFC's Film Student Scholarship & Awards Program. Both students received a $1,500 check and a framed certificate presented by Jeff Clark, Monterey County Film Commission president and film scholarship chairperson.
Beavers, who is from Modesto, will use the award to financially back and help gain exposure for her senior thesis film, “The Call,” in film festivals. She also is working on a new film, “When It Rains,” which she plans to shoot in Monterey County with funds helping ensure enhanced film gear, software, and hard drives.
Mercurio, who grew up in Salinas, has a thesis film called “Grandma’s Card Night,” an animated narrative fiction about the loving relationship between two children and their beloved grandmother. The scholarship will help her better equip her workspace, making it possible for her to create more animated work of even higher quality.

Steve Masseroni is an entertainment and marketing artist whose clients include EA Games, LucasFilms, and DisneyToon Studios. He debuted in his teens as a professional comic book artist on "Steal, Stealth & Magic" for Eclipse Monthly, then vanished from the comic book scene for 30 years. Recently, he made his return and teamed up with Kevin Kelly, the co-founder of WIRED magazine, and in 2015 they released a mammoth 465 page, hardcover, techno-epic graphic novel called The SILVER CORD; a weighty tome about the emergence of quantum robots and the war between metaphysical beings, and a half-breed teenage girl who must save them all.
