Boston based photographer, Kimberly Maroon, recently got a chance to visit with the wonderful Bob the Cat of Recycle Bookstore in Downtown Campbell and she wrote and took photos of her experience. She also picked up a book too. Welcome to Campbell Ms. Maroon!

She wrote: At first glance Campbell seems like your regular run-of-the-mill suburb. Strip malls and quiet neighborhoods of two-story homes with backyards. One of my first nights there, I went for a walk downtown looking for dinner and anything to do. Yes! Finally, something that reminded me of my neighborhood…

Here's a little bit of history for your Throwback Thursday via Palazzi Salon's Facebook page. In 2013, a number of historic building plaques were installed courtesy of a grant from the Rotary Club of Campbell. There's five of them in all. You can see a full list of them here: http://www.campbellrotary.org/2013/05/campbell-historic-plaques/

Did you know that the Palazzi Salon was once home to the Campbell's Country Women's Club? Learn more about this and other historic structures in downtown Campbell!

Campbell has lost another icon and Downtown Campbell has lost one of its most supportive boosters from years past when Downtown Campbell was a sleepy avenue that shut down and became a ghost town at 5pm every day. It's hard to believe, but those days are really not that long ago.

Betty Deal, your deeds will be remembered and your passion for improving things for business and the community in Campbell will live on. Thank you for all of your help and steadfast support for all those years. You were there and you will be missed.

The Campbell Chamber has a endearing tribute to Betty here:

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Betty's adventures at Darling Fischer Memorial Chapel in Downtown Campbell on Monday, June 29th at 11:00am.

Historic Revival: A Nonprofit Revamps Efforts to Rescue Historic Lower Presidio Park from Years of Neglect

Peter B’s Brewpub has been awarded two Gold Medals by the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI). Based on a scale of 1-100 points, Peter B’s Je T’Aime and Midnight Lighting earned 90 and 92 points, respectively.

Je T’aime has a clear gold amber color and is described by the BTI as bright and fruity. There are floral aromas of banana nut muffin, orange blossom honey, and herb baguette. It has a velvety, lively, finely carbonated, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a tingly, interesting, medium-length arugula, peppercorns, stone fruit custard, and brown spices finish.

The second winning beer, Midnight Lightening, has an amber color with aromas of fruitcake, berry compote, and vinaigrette. It has a supple, tangy, effervescent, sourish medium-to-full body and a warming, nuanced, medium-long balsamic and soy drizzled dark berries, pomegranate, crème brulee, and salty roasted chestnuts finish.

Campbell Farmer's Market Wins Best in Silicon Valley 15

Posted on June 20th, 2015 by sheldon

Once again, the very popular Campbell Farmer's Market took top billing in a best of readers poll. The Farmers' Market that takes place in Downtown Campbell every Sunday from 9am to 1pm was voted as the Best in Silicon Valley 2015 by the readers of the San Jose Mercury News.

Downtown Campbell's year round Farmer's Market is well loved for the community atmosphere and fresh produce grown locally by California Farmers. It's also known for being a great place to people watch and shop for more than just your usual groceries. People come for the craft vendors, live music, coffee, breakfast at one of our restaurants, and for the casual shopping atmosphere.

If you want proof, here's a photo album for you to look through of the Campbell Farmer's Market. Better yet, come on down and enjoy it in person.

Posted on June 12th, 2015 by sheldon

KWENCH Juice
428 E. Campbell Ave.
Campbell, CA 95008

KWENCH Juice was inspired by the founder's struggle to provide fresh healthy and nutritious juices for her father who was terminally ill with cancer and could not ingest solid food. Unable to find juices made from freshly cut fruits and free of preservatives and other additives, she began to prepare her own juices to give her father the healthier alternatives she was unable to find.
