The Campbell Youth Basketball League is returning this January! This is a recreational youth basketball league where fun and fundamentals are stressed. All skill levels are welcome! Players learn techniques of dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, good sportsmanship, and other fundamentals of the game. All players will play a minimum of two full quarters each game. The Campbell Recreation Youth Basketball League will be offered during the winter season to youth divisions by grades 1st - 5th. All games and practices are held at the Campbell Community Center gyms. There will be a one-hour practice followed by a one-hour game each Saturday. Team schedules will be distributed before the league begins. Each division is organized by grade and skill level.

Cold weather is here! Luckily, Fashion Trade Boutique has a wide selection of winter wear for men and women, including coats, jackets, boots, and hats. (Not to mention fun holiday gifts including purses, scarves, and more.) Visit us at 554 Lighthouse Avenue and find warm clothing and holiday fun.

Santa was ready to ring in the holidays in Downtown Campbell and so were all the ponies, the cute petting zoo animals, and everyone else as their most festive selves. Unfortunately, mother nature also weighed in with likely showers on Saturday afternoon so we made the difficult decision to reschedule the Carol of Lights for early next year as a winter themed fun festival.

The last time we did this was in 2000 when the 1999 Carol of Lights had to be called off due to bad weather and we had a Winter Wonderland in February event instead. That's what we're aiming for again and we'll announce all the details early next year after they've been worked out.

If you're still ready to celebrate the holiday season the Campbell way, please open your heart to the Campbell Community Toy Program and join in at the Making Spirits Bright Fundraiser at Darling-Fischer Memorial Chapel in Downtown Campbell.

About the Campbell Community Toy Program

The Campbell Community Toy Program has been helping local families in need for over 38 years. The program is a combined effort of many Community Partners who work in conjunction with the Campbell Union School District Grades K-8 to provide toys, games, books, and fun gifts for Christmas to children in families in need.

In addition, this year the Community Toy Program will again be working with the American Cancer Society to support local families with children or parents who are receiving treatment and may not be able to provide gifts on their own.

About the Making Spirits Bright Fundraiser

The Making Spirits Bright Fundraiser is an adults-only mixer held annually in Campbell to raise money for the Campbell Community Toy Program. This year's fundraiser will be held at Darling Fischer Memorial Chapel in Downtown Campbell on December 8th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This year's event will also honor our very own Kelly Crowley who we lost in 1999 and was a driving force for charity and community in Downtown Campbell.
