Monterey Budokan Martial Arts Academy, located in the heart of Monterey's Lighthouse District, is offering a Martial Arts Junior Camp for boys and girls, ages 8-13. The class will be held July 30 - August 2, 10am-3pm, and August 3-4, 10am-10am. Extended care is available Monday-Thursday, 3pm-5:30pm.

For 6 days and 1 night, in a safe environment, young warriors will have an opportunity for powerful experiences. Daily activities will include: intensive martial art training, self-defense training, self-esteem and deslf-discipline philosophy classes, discussion and sharing about teamwork and self-development, meditation and yoga, knife-throwing class, wooden sword training, first aid, and more.

The Friday to Saturday overnight camp will include a daytrip to Big Sur (transportation provided), training at the beach, hiking in the woods, BBQ dinner, confidence-building walk, fun and games, and more!

Camp will be taught and facilitated by certified black-belt instructors. Students will participate in all activities together. This full schedule develops cooperation and interactive skills, building self-confidence and self-discipline. Through the self-defense training, the students will learn the ability to identify potential conflicts and avoid dangerous situations.

Tuition fee is $245 for the camp, with an additional $40 for the 4 evenings of extended care if desired (Monday-Thursday). For more information and to register, please click here.
