On the second Sunday of each month, come to Old Capitol Books to see the featured poets of the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium. This afternoon's featured poets are Gabriela Gutierrez y Muhs and John Laue, who will read from their work. There is a suggested donation of $5.

Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, the author of several books, has also authored multiple articles, poetry collections, and encyclopedia entries. Her poetry collection, How Many Indians Can We Be?, is forthcoming. She recently published The Runaway Poems with Finishing Line Press, and today she'll be reading from her new and unpublished collection Kneading Words: Amasando palabras.

John Laue, a widely published, prize-winning poet and prose writer, has edited Transfer and been Associate Editor of San Francisco Review. He presently coordinates the monthly reading series of The Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium. His fifth poetry chapbook, Shadows, was published in 2013 by Finishing Line Press. An edition of his book COLMA (City of the Dead/Elegy for Skeptics), augmented with many photos he took of that cemetery city adjacent to San Francisco, was published by Futurecycle.
