Venture Gallery hosts an opening reception for Gordon Mayfield's latest exhibition, The Wild Edge: Watercolors of the Big Sur Coast on Friday, May 4, 5pm-7pm. Mayfield's work will be on display throughout the month of May at the gallery.

Gordon Mayfield has created a special, powerful series of paintings for his latest exhibition, capturing the wild spirit of the coast. His inspiration comes from his years spent living near the cliffs, but also from many hours spent painting plein air on the “edge”.

Gordon Mayfield is well-known for his wilderness scenes and his ability to capture the spirit and power of nature. In his latest work, he takes us to the cliffs through his painting and makes us stop a moment to look into the water with him.
