Middlebury Institute of International Studies presents a free panel discussion entitled Democracy Under Threat: Symptoms and Citizen Solutions on October 17, 6:30pm-8pm, at Irvine Auditorium in the McCone Building on the campus of MIIS. Please register online in advance.

Faith in democracy is eroding around the world and threats to democratic norms are increasing in the U.S. and abroad. Join us for a lively panel discussion on why democracy is under siege and what we as citizens can do about it.

Panelists will include Jason Scorse (Assoc. Professor, MIIS, Program Chair, International Environmental Policy & Director, Center for the Blue Economy), Nükhet Kardam (Professor, MIIS), Melissa Hanham (Senior Research Assoc., MIIS), and Avner Cohen (Professor, MIIS). The panel will be moderated by Lyuba Zarsky (Professor, MIIS).
