The City of Monterey's Museums and Cultural Arts Division presents a reception for artist Jerry Takigawa's exhibition, Balancing Cultures, at Alvarado Gallery on Friday, November 30, 5:30pm-7pm. All are welcome. Alvarado Gallery is located on the mezzanine of Monterey Conference Center.

Balancing Cultures examines the arc of independent photographer, designer, and writer Jerry Takigawa's early family history of incarceration in the American WWII concentration camps.

Mr. Takigawa received the Imogen Cunningham Award, the Clarence J. Laughlin Award, and CENTER Santa Fe's Curator's Choice Award. His work is in the permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress.
