Middlebury Institute of International Studies presents a free lecture by Carlos-Henri Ferre entitled Environmental Storytelling: Kelp Is on the Way on November 28 at 6pm in the McGowan Building, Room 102, on the campus of MIIS.

Can chefs make delicious creations from something that can help save our oceans? Join Carlos-Henri Ferré as he speaks about his summer 2018 experience working for a film and television production company, specifically helping to produce an episode on kelp (the farm, the chefs, and the experts he helped interviewed).

He will talk about kelp's potential and where the producers hope the kelp industry and the series will go. He will also discuss environmental communication and methods for becoming more effective storytellers. The talk will end with a brief screening of the episode.

Originally from Boston, MA, Carlos-Henri is currently a 2nd-year IEP student focusing on Sustainability Management. Having studied English at the University of Maryland, College Park, he spent two years in Washington, D.C. ghostwriting and eventually worked with National Geographic. Carlos-Henri aims to connect mainstream audiences with environmental issues through food, writing, and film.
