Fishbowl Poetry Open Mic Featuring D.L. Lang and Doreen Stock

Old Capitol Books is pleased to announce Fishbowl Poetry, an open mic event on the last Sunday of ever month which opens with a featured poet (or two). On Sunday, February 24, we'll welcome guests D.L. Lang and Doreen Stock. Readings begin at 2pm, signups for the open mic begin at 1:30pm.
D.L. Lang is the current Poet Laureate of Vallejo, California. She is the author of ten books and one spoken word album. Her poems have been published in the Benicia Herald, Jewish Journal, Poets Are Heroes Magazine, on ReformJudaism.org, the Benicia First Tuesday Poets anthology Light & Shadow, Marin Poetry Center Anthology, Vol. 21, and in A Poet’s Siddur: Friday Evening Liturgy through the Eyes of Poets.She is also a regular at Poetry by the Bay and leads the Poetry in Notion poetry circle.
Doreen Stock is a poet, essayist and memoir practitioner who has been exploring creative nonfiction for thirty plus years from the feminine point of view as a wife, mother of three, single human, and grandmother of eleven. Her first book of poems, The Politics of Splendor, was part of a New American Writers exhibit at the Frankfurt Book Fair that year. It combined her own poetry and prose poems with her translation from the work of Marina Tsvetaeva and Anna Akhmatova. Her most recent work, Three Tales from the Archives of Love, a triptych of historical novellas, was published in January 2018 by Norfolk Press.
