Make and Mend with Erin Gafill and Jaki Canterbury

This event has already passed

Award-winning artist Erin Lee Gafill welcomes mending expert and owner of Slowfiber, Jaki Canterbury, to this online round table discussion hosted by Monterey Museum of Art on Saturday, June 19 at 11am. Fee is $5 to attend one session, $20 to attend every session of the series, which is scheduled June 5 and 19, July 10 and 24, and August 7 and 21 (begin at any time). Register online here. You will be sent a Zoom link after registering.

The emphasis will be on textile arts with a gentle focus on stitching and handcrafts, but participants practicing all art forms are welcome to join. This is an opportunity to unearth your mending pile and patch that pair of jeans, start a watercolor painting, or knit some rows on an ongoing project — all in the company of friends!

Erin and Jaki will cultivate group-led conversation, offer informal mentorship, and create space for optional skill-sharing via virtual break-out rooms. Come create together!
