About the Film
Ride to Resilience is a feature length documentary that dives into the unseen mental battles faced by first responders, athletes, and everyday people who are expected to carry it all. Following firefighter and professional mountain biker Steve Vanderhoek, the film traces a 2 year journey shaped by trauma, loss, and healing, both on the trail and off.
The story explores how depression and PTSD can quietly build beneath a capable exterior, and how connection, vulnerability, peer support and community can become lifelines.
Please note: This film contains mature themes, including discussions of mental health, depression, PTSD, suicide, traumatic emergency incidents, and loss. While there is no graphic content, some subject matter may be emotionally challenging. Viewer discretion is advised. Age restriction: 13 and up.
