OMBA Members: Economic Development Strategy Meeting with City of Monterey
Wednesday, September 02, 2026 - 3:00pm
The City of Monterey is holding a meeting for members of the Old Monterey Business Association (OMBA) on Wednesday, September 2, 3pm-5pm, at the OMBA Office. This will be a stakeholder engagement meeting regarding the City's Economic Development Strategy (EDS). Please RSVP to the OMBA's Executive Director, Sabrina Hiltunen.
About the Meeting
The City of Monterey is embarking on a critical initiative to shape our economic future, and they want Old Monterey businesses and the OMBA to be at the center of the conversation of the Economic Development Strategy (EDS).
Please note that these meetings are fundamentally intended to be listening sessions. The focus is to meet directly with OMBA members and businesses operating within Old Monterey to gather initial feedback and welcome ideas regarding local economic strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). To help guide our discussion, please read the Draft EDS.
About Future Steps
The City of Monterey will continue their engagement with business associations, industry stakeholders, and residents through December. Additionally, they will distribute an online digital survey at a later date to capture further feedback. All of this input will be vital as they work to bring forward a final Economic Development Strategy to the City Council for adoption in early 2027.
