The Monterey County Film Commission, located in the Lighthouse District, is pleased to announce that Liberty Ingraham-Gonzales, a student at CSUMB, is the winner of the 2018 Monterey County Film Commission's Director Emeritus Richard Tyler Film Student Scholarship Award.

Ingraham-Gonzales, a Monterey resident originally from Arcata, is majoring in Cinematic Arts & Technology at CSUMB. She'll use the $2,000 award to help cover costs for her capstone documentary film project, which will be filmed in Mexico over the summer. The award will allow her to rent production equipment, cover transportation fees for crew, and help obtain permits for the film. She hopes to showcase the resulting documentary in film festivals and use it as part of her reel for building a career as a producer.
