ANTHROPOCENE: THE HUMAN EPOCH

Third in a trilogy that includes Manufactured Landscapes (2006) and Watermark (2013), this documentary film follows the research of an international body of scientists, the Anthropocene Working Group who, after nearly 10 years of research, are arguing that the Holocene Epoch gave way to the Anthropocene Epoch in the mid-twentieth century, because of profound and lasting human changes to the Earth. MAIDEN

Maiden is the story of how Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook in charter boats, became the skipper of the first-ever all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989. Although blessed with tremendous self-belief Tracy was also beset by crippling doubts and was only able to make it through with the support of her remarkable crew.
