A New Chapter for Parker-Lusseau

Posted on March 31st, 2026 by Parker-Lusseau Pastries & Cafe

After 30 years of serving the Monterey community, Yann Lusseau and Anne Parker Johnson, the owners of Parker-Lusseau Pastries and Cafe, have retired. We want to thank them for their many years of kindness, community spirit, and amazing food that buoyed our hearts.

The good news is that Yann and Anne are "passing the rolling pin" to Jeanne Brooks of Bees Knees Bakery, who's been providing quality baked goods to local farmers markets and coffee shops in the area since 2020.

A baker for more than 20 years with a strong background in French baking, Jeanne hails from the east coast where she's worked in just about every branch of pastry, notably Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill, Gramercy Tavern, Equus Relais & Chateaux, and The Midwife And The Baker. Jeanne has been working at Parker-Lusseau since mid-February, familiarizing herself with its staff, recipes, and techniques (including chocolate production).

We want to wish Yann and Anne a wonderful retirement and congratulate Jeanne on this new journey. We encourage you to stop by the cafe at 539 Hartnell in Downtown Monterey and enjoy all your favorite sweet treats...plus the new ones to come.
