Caffe Trieste and Kiki Wow present pianist Michael Martinez on Friday, February 23, 6:30pm-9:30pm.

Michael Martinez was born in 1990 and raised in Pacific Grove. After the death of his piano teacher, Jonathon Lee, in 2004, Michael Martinez carried on the tradition of performing as Big Sur International Marathon's Grand Piano Man, playing for runners on the nine foot concert grand piano at the famous Bixby Bridge turnout. In 2012, Michael released his first CD, Big Sur Reminiscence. The album is dedicated to Jonathon Lee and his legacy at the marathon as well as all the runners.

Michael resides in Monterey, working from his studio on various projects for musicians and giving piano lessons. Michael is also active in the community, playing at festivals and private functions, and is the music director for The Center for Spiritual Awakening. Michael is currently working on his latest CD, comprised of all original pieces, which he plans to release later this year.
