Paper Wing Theatre: Boxcar (El Vagon)
This event has already passed
Paper Wing Theatre presents the award-winning Boxcar (El Vagon), written by California playwright Silvia Gonzalez S. Performances are scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm, April 5-21. Tickets are $23 general admission, $20 for students, seniors, and military. Purchase advance tickets online.
Is it a crime to dream of improving one’s life . . . to take the steps necessary to do so? In 1987 a group of undocumented men were smuggled across the Mexican border into Texas. Locked in a train boxcar with their dreams, trapped in 120 degree temperatures, this is the true and tragic story upon which the play is based.
Following every performance, members of the cast will return to the stage with director Linda Felice for an information discussion with the audience. Have questions about the play? The set? The actors? Or just about theatre in general? Stay and ask them! As a special engagement on Friday, April 6, playwright Sylvia Gonzalez S. will be in attendance at the post-performance discussion.
