The Dropkick Murphys is an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1996. The band initially made a name for themselves locally through constant touring and yearly St. Patrick's Day Week shows held in and around Boston. Their 2004 single "Tessie" became the band's first mainstream hit and one of their biggest charting singles to date.

Since then, they've gained national renown and released hits such as "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," "The State of Massachusetts," and Christmas song "The Season's Upon Us." Their newest album, "This Machine Still Kills Facists," features the lyrics of Woody Guthrie.
